Gamers these days will never know! “Drive Yourself Crazy” was a handheld game Via TOMY circa, 1976. You basically used a tiny little steering wheel to maneuver a little plastic car and your goal was to keep the car from crashing. Thee official press release from the manufacture explains it like this:
“Very early racing game by Tomy. And to be honest, pretty stupid. 🙂 It’s basically a sheet of paper with a street drawn on it, that is rolled up like a scroll.
You start the game, and have to keep the car on the road, if you crash, the number located on the item you crashed into represents your score. It’s all honor system, there are no sensors in the game to indicate a crash, just a motor that turns the paper. And here it is in action.”
