Allow Us To RE-Introduce You To Songbird Rêve & Her Latest Explosively Addictive Tune “Contemporary Love.”
The Toronto singer-songwriter first appeared on our pages a couple years back after we featured her debut sonics “Tongue” and ‘CTRL + ALT + DEL.’
Now she’s back with a triumphant new-classic pop track produced by Mike Wise. Written by herself along with mister Wise.
The enchanting and electrifying artist had the following to spill about the project:
“Earlier this year I went through a breakup and got onto the apps for the first time (scary sauce) and dove into modern dating. One of the biggest parts of my job is to romanticize and/or embellish the human experience through my lyrics but it’s hard to idealize this new culture of “insta-carting” feelings. People’s attention spans are so much shorter and no one actually seems to enjoy the chase/the process anymore. Back in March, my song hyper-fixation was “Touch in me in the Morning” by Marlena Shaw. The song itself is so timeless but her delivery in the intro is so personal and encapsulated the feeling that I was lacking in most of my romantic interactions. That concept and song inspired “Contemporary Love” ❤️. To all the hopeless romantics out there, I wrote this one for us. X
