INYIM Media Preferred Show Series: ‘The Bear’ Renewed For Season 3 Via The FX Network, Returning In 2024.
“FX is firing up the burners.
The Disney-owned cable network has handed out a third-season renewal for its critically acclaimed comedy series The Bear. The behind-the-scenes story on a restaurant and its staff, from creator Christopher Storer, will return in 2024.
“The Bear, which wowed audiences in its first season only to achieve even greater heights in season two, has become a cultural phenomenon,” said FX entertainment president Nick Grad. “We’re so proud to partner with Christopher Storer, Joanna Calo, Josh Senior, and the rest of the creative team, as well as the brilliant cast led by Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. What they and the crew have done is truly remarkable, and we and our partners at Hulu join fans in looking forward to the next chapter in the story of The Bear.”
The first season of the series has been nominated for 13 Emmys, including comedy series and for stars White, Moss-Bachrach, Edebiri and Jon Bernthal. The series — on which Calo serves as showrunner and exec produces alongside Storer, Hiro Murai, Senior and Matty Matheson — also has been recognized as AFI TV Program of the Year, and with a WGA Award, PGA Award, Film Independent Spirit Award, American Cinema Editors Award and ACE Eddie Award. Solidifying The Bear as an early awards contender, Shameless alum White has already won a Golden Globe, SAG Award and a Critics Choice prize.
Season two, which bowed in June, has a 99 percent rating among critics and a 92 percent score from viewers on Rotten Tomatoes.
Storer, who also counts Ramy and Eighth Grade among his credits, has remained hot and has already lined up directing the feature film The Winter of Frankie Machine (an adaptation of the 2006 Don Winslow novel) for Paramount Pictures and, via his overall deal with FX Productions, has set up his next show for the John Landgraf-led cable network with All the Other Mothers Hate Me. The upcoming book by Sarah Harman landed at FX with Storer’s American Light & Fixture banner attached following a massive bidding war.” – Hollywoodreporter.com
