It’s Coming! CBS’ Sets Mid Jan. Premiere For NEW Late Night Show ‘After Midnight’ Hosted By Taylor Tomlinson
“CBS is making good on its promise to bring After Midnight to its late night lineup in early 2024.
The network will debut the show, hosted by comedian Taylor Tomlinson and based on Comedy Central’s @midnight, on Jan. 16 — or technically Jan. 17, as it debuts at 12:37 a.m. ET/PT, but at the tail end of the Jan. 16 broadcast day.
The show will feature a panel of comics, actors and other celebrities (guest lineups will be announced later) discussing the internet buzz of the day in a game-show format. After Midnight’s mission statement is to be “the smartest show on television about the dumbest things on the internet.”
After Midnight will air in the post-Late Show With Stephen Colbert spot previously occupied by The Late Late Show, which ran for 28 years under four different hosts. James Corden ended his eight-year tenure as host in April 2023. For the past several months, CBS has aired episodes of Byron Allen’s Comics Unleashed in the 12:37 a.m. slot.
CBS Studios, Spartina Industries and Funny Or Die are producing After Midnight. Jack Martin, who was showrunner of @midnight for its four seasons, and Eric Pierce are co-showrunners and executive produce with Stephen Colbert, Carrie Byalick, Tom Purcell and Evelyn McGee Colbert of Spartina Industries; James Dixon of Dixon Talent; Joe Farrell, Mike Farah, Whitney Hodack and Henry R. Muñoz III of Funny Or Die; and @midnight co-creator Jason U. Nadler of Serious Business. Head writer Jo Firestone co-executive produces with Alexx Wells. Sharon Everitt will direct.” – Hollywoodreporter.com
