It’s Kim Petras alluring and hypnotic new musique video for her groovy single “Icy!
“Seems that Kim Petras is busier than ever. She released her full Turn Off The Light Halloween project earlier this month, is headed out on a world tour, and now, she’s giving fans the visual they’ve been clamoring for.
On Tuesday (Oct. 15), Petras released her latest video for “Icy,” where the star deals with a breakup by crystallizing her feelings into a hard-as-steel exterior. Starting out trapped in a glass tank, Petras laments her lost love, eventually finding her way out and slowly transforming (literally) into a metallic person, while bathing in a tub of ice. “So dumb, I believed you really liked me/ ‘Cause of you, now my heart is so icy,” she sings.
In a statement released with the song, Petras explained that the clip is meant to represent finding strength in your pain. “I wanted the visual to feel fresh and signify becoming a stronger version of myself,” she said. “The video starts with me feeling trapped and watched in a glass box, but as it progresses, I escape and evolve into a bionic version of myself through the pain of heartbreak.”
Along with prepping for her upcoming tour, Petras has also been hard at work on her collaborations. Just in the last week, Petras appeared on a new remix for Charli XCX’s “Click” (she also featured on the original version of the song), and on “How It’s Done,” the latest single from the upcoming Charlie’s Angels soundtrack, alongside Alma and Stefflon Don, and written by none other than Ariana Grande.
