Would you pay 16 Million Dollars for a shoe! A SHOE! Check out the very high priced Kanye West Nike sneaker that has EBay marking up the sold out item
Back in November, during his much-hyped Yeezus tour, Kanye West used the stage at a handful of arenas as a very public forum to air his grievances about his failed collaboration with Nike. The rapper cut ties with the label due to creative differences and its reported refusal to pay him royalties for his sneaker designs — he released his first Air Yeezy shoes in 2009 — and opted to sign a deal with Adidas instead.
However, West had one more design on deck before the partnership was severed: the elusive, all-red Air Yeezy 2 “Red October” sneakers, which went on sale without any warning over the weekend.
According to Vibe, the shoes hit Nike’s website around 1 p.m. on Sunday without warning or promotion, and shoppers were alerted by a lone tweet sent by the brand. The sneakers, which retailed for $245, were sold out in 10 minutes, and many fans were shut out. Of course, a handful of the Red Octobers hit eBay shortly thereafter, and one pair in the UK is currently going for £10 million, or $16.39 MILLION. For sneakers.
Sure, the sneakers are pretty cool, but we doubt even West’s fiancé Kim Kardashian would drop that much cash on a pair of shoes. At the very least, this makes West’s $6,000 Giuseppe Zanotti heels from a few seasons ago seem like a bargain.-fashionista.com
