Leighton Meester may best be know for her character on Gossip Girl, but the young actress is hoping to gain some recognition as a singer.
To make sure that she breaks into the music industry right, Leighton has been doing some research and spending a lot of time with music icon Cyndi Lauper.
“Recently I’ve spent a lot of time with Cyndi Lauper, and she is very much a living legend,” says Meester. “She gave me the advice: Never sell your publishing, so I’ll take that.”
And I agree! Publishing is everything. Unless you want your tunes later heard on cat food commercials.
