Queen Cher Jaw-Drops For Paper Magazine Cover As Their Latest Face.
“Talk about turning back time.
Cher covers Paper magazine’s new issue looking positively ageless in a sparkling Versace catsuit and matching Bottega Veneta boots.
The “Believe” singer, 77, struck a confident stance in front of a futuristic backdrop for her cover shot, rocking a platinum blond bouffant and a sprinkling of face gems.
And when she shared a few images from her spread on Instagram Thursday, the compliments poured in.
“Absolutely iconic!! I love you @cher ♥️,” Donatella Versace commented.
“It’s breathtaking 😍 This should be an album cover, it’s so good,” a fan added, with another writing, “As fierce as ever babe ❤️.”
Cher — who recently said she won’t cut her hair or stop wearing denim as she approaches 80 — opened up about her legendary career in Paper’s accompanying cover story and also dished on her first-ever holiday album, simply titled “Christmas.”
“The reason I didn’t do one was because I couldn’t figure out a way to do one,” she told the mag when asked why it’s taken her so long to drop a festive record.
“I couldn’t feel the way to make a Christmas album come from me, and then Sarah gave me ‘DJ’ and I thought, ‘Okay, I could do this,’” the “I Got You Babe” singer said of her first single from the album.
Despite her superstardom, the stylish singer admits she’s “not a Cher fan.”
“I just never liked my voice that much,” she admitted to the outlet. “If I had my choice, I probably would have another one, but I didn’t get my choice. I got my mother’s voice.”
When asked to clarify what she didn’t love about the sound of her own voice, Cher said, “It doesn’t sound like a man, it doesn’t sound like a woman. I’m somewhere more in-between.”
Cher said she’s not particularly a modern-day pop fan, although she revealed she “just went to see Usher.”
“There are things that I really like, but I don’t listen to the radio anymore,” she continued, sharing that her 37-year-old boyfriend, Alexander Edwards, “is always bringing me things to listen to.”
At the end of the day, the pop icon said she’s she’s “had lots of failures” but “success is not a thing.”
“Success is like different moments, like pearls, and if you string them on long enough you’ve got a necklace,” she mused.” -Pagesix.com
