“Rihanna has earned another award from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
Her 2010 single “Only Girl (In the World)” has been certified 7x multi-platinum with over seven million equivalent units sold.
The EDM-influenced track, co-produced by Stargate and Sandy Vee, was the lead single from Rihanna’s 2010 album, Loud. It’s the best-selling single from the album.
“Only Girl (In the World) is Rihanna’s eighth song from Loud to receive a certification from the RIAA.

“Only Girl (In the World)” debuted at No. 75 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart the week that ended Sept. 25, 2010. It eventually peaked at No. 1 in December 2010 for one week.
Elsewhere, the single topped the following Billboard charts: Pop Airplay (No. 1 for three weeks); Dance Club Songs (No. 1 for one week); and Rhythmic Airplay (No. 1 for one week).
On Spotify, “Only Girl (In the World)” has over 715 million streams at the time of publication. Meanwhile, the official video has more than 899 million views on YouTube.
“Only Girl (In the World)” won Best Dance/Electronic Recording (then known as Best Dancing Recording) at the 53rd Grammy Awards in 2011.
Rihanna is one of four Black women to win in this category, following Donna Summer and Janet Jackson, and later Beyoncé.
“Only Girl (In the World)” is Rihanna’s first song to be honored with an RIAA certification since her Oscar-nominated song “Lift Me Up.” The chart-topping single served as the focus track for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
